The Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MODNR) has been awarded a $3,243,333 Formula Grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 7 under the Nonpoint Source Implementation Grants program (CFDA 66.460). This 5-year grant, effective from October 1, 2023 to September 30, 2028, supports MODNR's implementation of its Nonpoint Source Management Plan. Key activities include providing technical assistance, financial assistance, education, training, technology transfer, demonstration projects, and water quality monitoring to reduce nonpoint source pollution across Missouri. MODNR will work with sub-recipients to implement best management practices, develop water quality protection plans, and conduct outreach to resource managers, public officials, and private citizens. The primary goals are to protect, maintain, and improve water quality by preventing degradation of unimpaired waterbodies and reducing the number of impaired waterbodies in the state and downstream communities.
