This $100,000 Formula Grant from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 3 supports the District of Columbia's water quality management planning program under the Water Quality Management Planning federal grant program (CFDA 66.454). The program aims to increase public awareness and understanding of water quality protection and improvement through a variety of activities conducted by both the District government and subrecipients. These activities include watershed assessment, NPDES permitting, environmental enforcement, water quality policy and planning, nonpoint source management, groundwater protection, TMDL/303(d) list development, watershed management framework, antidegradation, public water supply protection, and water quality monitoring. The intended environmental outcome is improved water quality in impaired waters and protection of unimpaired waters across the District. Residents of the District are the primary beneficiaries of these planning and awareness efforts. The award period is October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2022.
