The Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania, doing business as Clinical Practices of the University of Pennsylvania, has been awarded a $441,795 Cooperative Agreement from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) under the Diabetes, Digestive, and Kidney Diseases Extramural Research program (CFDA 93.847). The award, titled "The Philadelphia Program for Mentored Research Training in Kidney, Urologic, and Hematologic Diseases (PERFORM-KUH U2C/TL1)," will establish a comprehensive training program to prepare pre- and post-doctoral students across multiple institutions in Philadelphia for careers as investigators focused on kidney, urologic, and hematologic diseases. The program will provide training in state-of-the-art experimental approaches, offer structured mentoring, and create enrichment opportunities to foster professional development. Sub-awards have been made to Temple University, Drexel University, and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia to support recruitment, training, and oversight activities at those institutions under the broader PERFORM-KUH program.
