This $1,069,873 cooperative agreement from the National Cancer Institute under the 21st Century Cures Act - Beau Biden Cancer Moonshot program (CFDA 93.353) supports the establishment of the Center for Gastric Pre-Cancer Atlas of Multidimensional Evolution in 3D (GAME3D) research center at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. The center aims to develop a multimodal, single-cell, dynamic, and 3D spatial atlas of the progression from normal-appearing gastric mucosa, to pre-cancerous T1A lesions, and ultimately to advanced diffuse gastric cancer in individuals with hereditary diffuse gastric cancer associated with CDH1 mutations. This research is expected to provide critical insights into the earliest phases of gastric cancer development and identify potential targets for cancer interception in this high-risk population. Sub-awards to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and the University of Pennsylvania will contribute expertise in 3D modeling, computational tools, and tissue visualization to support the GAME3D research goals.
