The Regents of the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) has been awarded a $2,514,759 Cooperative Agreement from the National Cancer Institute under the Cancer Cause and Prevention Research (CFDA 93.393) program to establish the National ASPIRE Asian American Prospective Research Cohort. This cohort will enroll 20,000 Asian American men and women ages 40-75 across regions with large Asian American populations to study multilevel determinants of cancer etiology, including structural, social, and environmental factors. UCSF is leading this effort in partnership with Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and Temple University in the Greater Philadelphia/New Jersey region, who are receiving sub-awards to support community-engaged recruitment and implementation. The goal is to advance understanding of the unique cancer burden and disparities experienced by diverse Asian American populations to inform policies and interventions that promote health equity.
