The Department of State Bureau of Population Refugees and Migration awarded a $2 million cooperative agreement to Save the Children Federation, Inc. under the Overseas Refugee Assistance Programs for Africa (CFDA 19.517) to improve social welfare and protection conditions for refugees and host communities in Mahama Camp and urban settlements in Rwanda from August 15, 2021 through August 14, 2022. Services will include an integrated three-year intervention delivering health, nutrition, child protection and livelihood support. A subaward of $TBD to Save the Children International will support this effort through specialized activities in health/nutrition, child protection and livelihoods programming. The funding and partnership with these international non-governmental organizations will help address basic needs for refugees from Burundi and the Democratic Republic of the Congo who have sought asylum in Rwanda, in line with the overall goals of the ORAP Africa program to provide humanitarian assistance across the continent.
