LATINOS IN HERITAGE CONSERVATION WILL PROVIDE TECHNICAL EXPERTISE TO THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE IN RESEARCHING, INVENTORYING, DOCUMENTING, AND NOMINATING HISTORIC PLACES AND CULTURAL RESOURCES ASSOCIATED WITH LATINX HISTORY AND HERITAGE. LATINOS IN HERITAGE CONSERVATION WILL ALSO PROVIDE RESEARCH, TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, AND EDUCATION FOR PROGRAMMING AND INTERPRETATION. IN ADDITION, LATINOS IN HERITAGE CONSERVATION WILL PERFORM TARGETED COMMUNITY OUTREACH, SCHOLARS ROUNDTABLES, AND CIVIC ENGAGEMENT WITH LATINX COMMUNITIES TO PROMOTE HISTORIC PRESERVATION GOALS AS WELL AS CULTURAL HERITAGE STEWARDSHIP. LATINOS IN HERITAGE CONSERVATION SHALL FACILITATE STAKEHOLDER PROPERTY OWNER MEETINGS, AND RESEARCH POTENTIAL HISTORIC SITE DESIGNATION. LATINOS IN HERITAGE CONSERVATION SHALL COMPILE RELEVANT RESEARCH ON TWO AGREED UPON LATINX HISTORIC SITES IN ORDER CONSIDER WHETHER THESE SITES ARE NATIONALLY SIGNIFICANT FOR THEIR ASSOCIATION WITH LATINX HISTORY IN ACCORDANCE WITH ESTABLISHED NATIONAL PARK SERVICE NATIONAL HISTORIC LANDMARK CRITERIA FOR EVALUATION OF HISTORIC PROPERTIES. LATINOS IN HERITAGE CONSERVATION SHALL DEVELOP TWO LOIS THAT EXAMINES THE NATIONAL HISTORIC THEMES FOR WHICH THE SELECTED SITES WOULD BE CONSIDERED SIGNIFICANT AND HOW THE INDIVIDUAL SITES REPRESENT THOSE THEMES. COMPARISONS WITH SIMILAR PROPERTIES WILL BE DISCUSSED AS WELL AS THE APPLICABLE NATIONAL HISTORIC LANDMARK CRITERIA FOUND IN THE NHL BULLETIN. LATINOS IN HERITAGE CONSERVATION SHALL REFINE AND REVISE THE LOI BASED ON STAKEHOLDER AND NPS FEEDBACK, TO PRESENT THE FINAL FINDINGS OF THE LOI THAT WILL INFORM FUTURE RESEARCH, SCHOLARSHIP, AND POTENTIAL DESIGNATION STRATEGIES FOR THE IDENTIFIED PROPERTIES.
