The University of California, Davis (UC Davis) was awarded a $2,481,237 Cooperative Agreement from the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy under the Conservation Research and Development (CFDA 81.086) program. The award supports comprehensive research, development, demonstration, and deployment of innovative technologies to advance energy efficiency, decarbonization, and sustainable solutions across multiple critical sectors, including buildings, vehicles, solid state lighting, advanced materials and manufacturing, and industrial efficiency. The project, titled "Synergistic Pasteurization and Sanitation via Efficient Extraction and Use of Low-Grade Waste Heat with Food-Grade Compounds," will leverage UC Davis's expertise in scientific research and technical support to deliver high-quality solutions that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and support the nation's goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. The project will run from August 1, 2024, to July 31, 2025.
