The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has awarded a $2,000,000 Cooperative Agreement under the Brownfields Multipurpose, Assessment, Revolving Loan Fund, and Cleanup Cooperative Agreements program (CFDA 66.818) to the Fargo Housing and Redevelopment Authority (Fargo Housing Authority) for brownfield remediation activities at the Lashkowitz Highrise site in Fargo, North Dakota. The funding will enable the Fargo Housing Authority to clean up asbestos, lead-based paint, and other hazardous materials at the 22-story, 2-acre residential property. This will allow the recipient to redevelop the site into new affordable housing. The grant includes requirements for the Fargo Housing Authority to procure environmental professionals, create a community involvement plan, maintain an administrative record, and submit quarterly progress reports. No sub-awards are included under this Cooperative Agreement.
