DESCRIPTION:THIS AGREEMENT PROVIDES FUNDING TO THE CITY OF BARNSDALL, OKLAHOMA TO IMPLEMENT ITS PROJECT TO PROVIDE FOR THE REHABILITATION AND REHABILITATION OF THE LAKE WAXHOMA DAM SPILLWAY AS DIRECTED IN THE 2023 CONSOLIDATED APPROPRIATIONS ACT OR AS IDENTIFIED IN AN APPROVED TECHNICAL CORRECTION IF ONE HAS BEEN APPROVED FOR THIS PROJECT. ACTIVITIES:THE ACTIVITIES TO BE PERFORMED INCLUDE THE EXECUTION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A WATER QUALITY PROTECTION PROJECT. WORKPLAN ACTIVITIES CONSIST OF THE REHABILITATION OF THE WAXHOMA DAM SPILLWAY IN ORDER TO PREVENT FURTHER IMPACTS OF WATER INTRUSION ON THE STRUCTURAL STABILITY OF THE EXISTING DAM SPILLWAY AND PREVENT THE PROBABLE LOSS OF LIFE AND PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF BARNSDALL, OKLAHOMA. THE PROPOSED PROJECT INCLUDES REMOVAL OF THE EXISTING DAM SPILLWAY, RECONSTRUCTION OF THE SPILLWAY FOOTINGS, AND CONSTRUCTION OF A LARGER SPILLWAY. SUBRECIPIENT:NO SUBAWARDS ARE INCLUDED IN THIS ASSISTANCE AGREEMENT.OUTCOMES:THE ANTICIPATED DELIVERABLES INCLUDE THE REMOVAL OF THE EXISTING LAKE WAXHOMA DAM SPILLWAY AND THE RECONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW SPILLWAY. THE PROPOSED PROJECT WILL REDUCE THE POTENTIAL FOR CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF THE EXISTING INFRASTRUCTURE AS A RESULT OF WATER INTRUSION BENEATH THE EXISTING SPILLWAY. THE EXPECTED OUTCOMES INCLUDE SECURING THE LAKE WAXHOMA DAM FOR CONTINUED USE BY THE BARNSDALL PUBLIC WORKS AS A PRIMARY SOURCE FOR THE CITY'S DRINKING WATER SYSTEM, TO PROVIDE FOR CONTINUED FLOOD PREVENTION FOR THE FARMS AND HOMES IN THE DRAINAGE AREA, TO PRESERVE LAKE WAXHOMA AS A AS A RECREATIONAL FEATURE FOR THE SURROUNDING AREA, AND TO MAINTAIN AN UNINTERRUPTED DRINKING WATER SERVICE TO THE CITY OF BARNSDALL DURING THE CONSTRUCTION PERIOD. THE INTENDED BENEFICIARIES INCLUDE THE RESIDENTS OF THE CITY OF BARNSDALL AND OSAGE COUNTY, OKLAHOMA.
