The Department of the Interior Bureau of Indian Affairs Office of Self Governance awarded $555,023 to the Sault Sainte Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians under the Tribal Self-Governance CFDA 15.022 Block Grant program. The award will support the Tribe in administering a wide range of programs with administrative and programmatic flexibility from October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2023. As the sub-awardee, Northern Hospitility division of the Sault Sainte Marie Tribe will deliver services enabled by this funding in Michigan City, Indiana. The Tribal Self-Governance program aims to further the goals of Indian Self-Determination by providing funds to tribes to administer an array of services independently.
