The Minnesota Department of Human Services received a $38,650,499 block grant award from the Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families for the period of October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2022. The award was provided through the Guardianship Assistance Program (CFDA #93.090), which aims to provide federal matching funds to states and tribes that opt to provide guardianship assistance payments to relatives caring for children who were in foster care. Under this award, the Minnesota Department of Human Services will deliver guardianship assistance payments and services to help support and maintain relative guardianships for children who were previously in foster care.
