The Kentucky Refugee Ministries, Inc. received a $250,000 block grant award from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to provide citizenship education and naturalization application services for refugee and immigrant lawful permanent residents in or near Louisville/Jefferson County, Kentucky. The funding supports the Office of Citizenship, Partnership and Engagement's (OCPE) Citizenship Education and Training program (CFDA #97.010), which promotes instruction and training on the rights and responsibilities of citizenship to help lawful permanent residents apply for naturalization. Under the award, Kentucky Refugee Ministries will deliver citizenship preparation classes, legal permanent residency screening, and assistance completing N-400 naturalization applications between October 1, 2021 and September 30, 2023.
