This federal contract award was issued by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to Applied Research LLC, a minority-owned small business, to develop a novel framework for fusing data from the Thermal Emission Imaging System (THEMIS) and Thermal Emission Spectrometer (TES) instruments to improve surface characterization of Mars. The $124,999 STTR Phase I contract will leverage the latest advancements in image registration, fusion, anomaly detection, pixel classification, and concentration estimation to generate high-resolution, 143-band image cubes from the lower resolution TES and higher resolution THEMIS datasets. This will address current limitations in characterizing Mars' surface composition and features. The contract is set aside for small businesses.
