This is a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I contract awarded by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to Texas Research Institute - Austin, Inc. (TRI/Austin), a for-profit small business. The $124,889 contract is for research and development on innovations to improve the inversion of nondestructive evaluation (NDE) data, including classifier-based data reduction and kriging methods. TRI/Austin is teaming with Aeromatter and Computational Tools on this project. The goal is to enable more efficient and quantitative assessment of damage in composite structures through NDE data inversion. The contract leverages both experimental and computational modeling data to establish known solution points for the inversion approach. High-performance computing will also be used to accelerate the data reduction and inversion processes. This contract is part of TRI/Austin's broader NDE Toolbox platform for managing and analyzing NDE data.
