The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has awarded a $124,937 firm-fixed-price Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I contract to Creare LLC, a for-profit limited liability company located in Hanover, New Hampshire. The contract is for the development of a compact, highly accurate oxygen flow meter for use in the ventilation loop of future space suit life support systems. The objective is to design and demonstrate a prototype flow meter that can provide precise measurements while meeting requirements for low pressure drop, compact size, and durability. This SBIR Phase I effort will focus on feasibility analysis, trade-off studies, proof-of-concept demonstrations, and preliminary prototype design in preparation for potential Phase II development of the flow meter hardware.
