The U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) awarded a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program Phase I contract to Ricardo Defense Inc. to develop a Five-Dimensional Task Analysis Visualization (5D-TAV) software tool. The tool will use multi-dimensional visualization to optimize human-centered design and improve task analysis accuracy and efficiency by 40% compared to 3D visualization. The $121,860.00 firm fixed-price contract supports the creation of an integrated software architecture incorporating commercial tools to provide views, filters, rotations, and controls for successful task analysis visualization and data management. This work is intended to increase mission success by improving project management, operations, and design decision-making, as well as optimizing human and system allocations.
