This is a federal contract award to Silicon Technologies Inc. (STI), a small business, by the Shared Services Center of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). The contract, valued at $124,888, is for the design and development of a wireless communication application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) for future space missions. The ASIC will include audio digital-to-analog converters (DACs), analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), a dual-band wireless local area network (WLAN), and speaker drivers to provide a complete communication solution. STI will leverage its proprietary ADONIS radiation-hardened-by-design analog cell library and design tool to minimize design time and cost, while ensuring the ASIC can be manufactured in new fabrication facilities if needed. This Phase I Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract lays the groundwork for a potential Phase II prototype development and testing effort.
