This is a $122,140.00 firm fixed-price SBIR Phase I contract awarded by the Shared Services Center, a civilian agency, to Lynntech Inc., a small business, for the development of a technology using pulsed plasma actuators to generate turbulent boundary layer perturbations that can induce significant skin-friction drag reduction for aerodynamic applications. The proposed solution aims to address the practical barriers of existing drag reduction approaches by providing a lightweight, simple, and easily controllable system that can be embedded in aircraft wings or propeller blades. The technology has potential applications across NASA programs, civilian transport aircraft, and military vehicles to improve fuel efficiency, endurance, range, and flight speed. This SBIR contract is a total small business set-aside.
