This SBIR Phase I contract awarded by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to CFD Research Corporation, a small business, will develop and validate detailed electrochemical models to accelerate the development and qualification of advanced battery, fuel cell, and electrolyzer technologies for NASA's unique mission requirements. The $124,949 fixed-price contract will leverage CFD Research's expertise in computational fluid dynamics, artificial intelligence, and electrochemical systems to create predictive models that link material properties and reaction kinetics to device performance and degradation. This will help reduce the need for iterative testing and improve confidence in projected lifetimes of these critical energy storage and conversion technologies for NASA's applications. The work will build upon CFD Research's experience supporting a range of federal R&D programs, including previous NASA SBIR efforts.
