The Department of the Navy's Naval Sea Systems Command awarded a firm-fixed-price purchase order to American Systems Corporation (ASC), a large business, to provide systems engineering and technical services for the Commander Submarine Forces Project 1319, including Deep Submergence Systems Scope of Certification (DSS-SOC) tasking. The $249,999.99 contract, awarded on July 31, 2019, is for work to be completed by July 30, 2020. The contract was awarded on a sole-source basis, as ASC was determined to be the only qualified vendor for the required DSS-SOC services. ASC holds several IDIQ contracts with various government agencies, including a $32.5 billion Air Force Training Systems Acquisition IV program, a $900 million Air Force Architecture and Integration IDIQ, and a $1 billion Test, Evaluation and Certification II Services contract from the Defense Information Systems Agency.
