The Department of the Navy's Military Sealift Command awarded Waterman Transport Inc., doing business as Central Gulf Lines, a $5.02 million firm fixed price contract to provide a 36-day dry cargo time charter. Waterman will transport approximately 109,767 square feet of military cargo from Ash Shuaiba, Kuwait to Charleston, South Carolina, commencing on August 8, 2020. The cargo includes wheeled vehicles, tracked vehicles, and breakbulk items associated with the 30th Armored Brigade Combat Team's redeployment. There is no set-aside designation for this requirement. Funding comes from the Military Sealift Command, the Navy component responsible for supplying the Department of Defense's ships. Waterman, as the prime contractor, will utilize its vessel to meet the solicitation's specifications for fully outfitted transport of the military equipment and supplies from the Middle East to Charleston.
