STABLE ISOTOPE ANALYSES
Added: Dec 16, 2016 5:20 pm The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Forest and Rangeland Ecosystem Science Center (FRESC), Boise, ID intends to make a non-competitive award to Central Appalachians Stable Isotope Facility, University of Maryland Center for Environment Science, Frostburg, MD., in accordance with FAR 13.106-1 (b) to purchase non-personal services to process stable isotope samples up to 2000 samples. Tissue samples which have collected in the course of research at USGS FRESC will be sent to CASIF for cleaning and mass spectrometer analysis of ratios of hydrogen, nitrogen and carbon isotopes, as well as other elements as appropriate. The Appalachian facility is a full service support lab performing complex stable isotope analyses. CASIF has a Carlo Erba NC2500 elemental analyzer (CE Instruments, Milano, Italy) interfaced with a ThermoFinnigan Delta V+ isotope ratio mass spectrometer (IRMS; Bremen, Germany), which is the latest technology for this type of analysis, and at or above the minimum standard for this type of work. This requirement is a commercial item prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. All responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency. This notice and any resulting solicitation or purchase order conforms to the requirements in place tough FAC 2005-92, dated 18 Nov 2016.
