This is a $17,028,448.48 firm fixed-price purchase order awarded by the U.S. Coast Guard to Leonardo S.p.A., an Italian aircraft manufacturer, for a one-time purchase of essential spare parts to support the Coast Guard's C-27J medium transport aircraft. The C-27J aircraft were previously acquired by the Coast Guard through the 2014 National Defense Authorization Act. This award will allow the Coast Guard's C-27J Asset Project Office to obtain the necessary spare parts from Leonardo's existing warehouse inventory to regenerate the aircraft, establish a new air station in Sacramento, and conduct training operations. As the original equipment manufacturer, Leonardo holds proprietary technical data rights for the C-27J, which is a limited production aircraft. The contract does not have a set-aside designation. In addition to this purchase order, Leonardo has several other significant indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contracts with the Coast Guard and U.S. Special Operations Command to provide maintenance, logistics, spare parts, and avionics upgrade services for the C-27J and other aircraft platforms.
