The mission of the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) is to improve dental, oral, and craniofacial health tough research, research training, and the dissemination of health information. The Adult Stem Cell Section (ASCS) in the Craniofacial and Skeletal Diseases Branch (CSDB), National Institute of Dental and craniofacial Research (NIDCR) requires a device with appropriate software to analyze colonies derived from human blood progenitors. The ASCS is interested in hematopoiesis (development of blood) and one of the basic required tests is to see if certain agents/factors/hormones affect the division and differentiation of the blood stem cells (hematopoietic progenitors). To do this the cells need to be seeded in a semi-solid medium and at day 7 and 14 the whole dish has to be scanned under high magnification and the number of the different white cell and red cell colonies (CFUs) must be counted.(i) "This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice.
