Heavy Duty Gap Bed Lathe
This solicitation seeks proposals for the procurement and installation of a heavy-duty gap bed engine lathe to replace the 502nd Trainer Development Squadron's aging 1952 model at Joint Base San Antonio Randolph. The Air Force requires a modern lathe of increased size and capacity along with digital readout, motor, chucks, centers and other accessories as specified. Proposals are due by August 25th and must provide pricing for the lathe, installation, and all required parts on a firm fixed-price basis to be completed within 60 days of award. The government intends to make award without discussions to the responsible offeror with the lowest priced, technically acceptable proposal meeting the requirements.
This is a 100% small business set-aside under NAICS 332710 (Machine Shops) and PSC 3120 (Machine Tools). The period of performance is 60 days and place of performance is Joint Base San Antonio Randolph, where the lathe must be delivered, assembled, installed and operational. The estimated value is between $250,000-$500,000 based on market research of similar lathe specifications. Questions are due by August 19th and proposals should be emailed to the point of contact provided.

Solicitation 2/2 8/11/21, 12:18 PM Stratasys 900 MC
This Special Notice was published by the Department of the Air Force Air Education and Training Command. The 502nd Contracting Squadron at Joint Base San Antonio intends to award a sole source, firm-fixed price contract to Stratasys, Inc. for one Stratasys Fortus 900mc Gen II industrial 3D printer.
The printer is required to fabricate large, complex components for aircraft trainers up to the size of B-1B and C-17 trainers using ABS, polycarbonate, nylon and ULTEM 9085 thermoplastics. The printer must have a build envelope of at least 36 x 24 x 36 inches to meet the 502nd Trainer Development Squadron's needs. While the government will evaluate any capability statements submitted by interested parties by September 8, 2020, the justification indicates Stratasys is the only qualified supplier identified during market research that can meet the size and material requirements. Questions are due by September 8, 2020 and any costs incurred for submitting a capabilities statement will not be reimbursed.
