The resulting contract will utilize funds provided by the AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT (ARRA) of 2009; interested parties are notified that the inclusion of unique provisions required in implementing the Act, including those for significant reporting and transparency, will be required of the successful bidder. The purpose of this announcement is to make notice that the Forest Service contemplates releasing a solicitation numbered AG-82B1-S-10-0152 on or about February 04, 2010 for the RECOVERY Buster Lake Archaeological Survey and Test Excavation Project. If the solicitation is released, it will be released tough this FedBizOpps website, and prospective bidders should visit this FedBizOpps website from time to time on or after February 04, 2010 to obtain a copy of the solicitation. All future information about this acquisition will be distributed solely tough this website. This notice meets the requirements of FAR 5.201; however, the Forest Service reserves the right not to release a solicitation. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The purpose of this project is to conduct an archaeological investigation of prehistoric site 10-CR-1928 (CH-1257) sufficient to determine the sites boundary, depth, integrity, occupation period(s), the lithic technology represented, and the lithic sources utilized. This work shall involve digging up to 50 shovel probes (30 cm diameter) to a maximum of 60 cm (0.7 m3 total), excavating up to 2.5 m3 of deposit utilizing 1 meter square test pits, surface collection, and site mapping. The contractor shall also survey a nearby (within 100 meters of the site) proposed 200 meter long ATV trail re-route using up to 10 shovel probes to determine if there are buried archaeological deposits along the proposed route. PROJECT LOCATION: Salmon-Challis National Forest, Salmon Idaho PARTICIPATION: This project is set-aside for small business concerns. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 541720.
