Tethers Unlimited, Inc., a small business, was awarded a $124,074.00 firm-fixed price Phase I Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to develop the "Astroporter" collaborative robotics platform for the International Space Station (ISS). The Astroporter will interface with the existing Astrobee free-flying robot to support coordinated robotic tasks and the transportation of equipment and materials aboard the ISS. It will leverage Tethers Unlimited's Mantis robotic arm payload to enable tele-robotic experiment operations. This effort aims to mature the Astroporter technology to Technology Readiness Level 5 in preparation for on-orbit demonstrations under a potential Phase II contract.
