The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) awarded a $124,979.00 firm fixed price Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I contract to Silicon Space Technology Corporation, doing business as Vorago Technologies, Inc. The contract is for the design and development of a radiation-hardened input/output (I/O) expansion chip to interface with next-generation spaceflight computing chipsets, including the High-Performance Spaceflight Computing (HPSC) chiplet. The I/O expansion chip will feature multiple high-speed interfaces, programmable voltage-level general-purpose I/O, and a dedicated ARM A5 processor core to enable system-level power savings and fault management capabilities. Vorago Technologies' proprietary HARDSIL technology will be used to make the chip resistant to latch-up in radiation environments.
