The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) awarded a $124,959 Firm Fixed Price contract to Design Analysis & Research Corp, doing business as Darcorporation, as part of the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program Phase I. The contract is for the development of a new intelligent flight control system with learning capabilities and a high degree of assurance that can be certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The project aims to take advantage of high-performance computing platforms and state-of-the-art machine learning and verification algorithms to develop an adaptable and certifiable flight control system with learning capabilities. The proposed solution includes a secondary, conventional autopilot system integrated using a run-time assurance architecture to provide a high degree of safety and certification.
