This federal contract was awarded by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Shared Services Center to Great Lakes Sound & Vibration Inc. (GLSV), a small business doing business as Glsv. The $124,902 Phase I Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract requires GLSV to develop and demonstrate computationally efficient tools capable of modeling sound propagation in an urban environment to create auralizations of Urban Air Mobility (UAM) vehicles. The tools will integrate with the NASA Auralization Framework (NAF) and include modules for path finding, sound sources, and terrain modeling. Key acoustic phenomena to be addressed are specular reflection, diffusion, and atmospheric refraction. GLSV, a HUBZone certified small business, has previously supported federal agencies including the Defense Logistics Agency, Department of the Army, and Department of the Navy with a range of research, development, testing, and product delivery services.
