This notice is strictly for research and information purposes only. Background: The Neuroimaging Research Branch has the requirement to purchase an MRI compatible eye tracking system. This system must be able to track eye gaze and pupil diameter in an MRI scanner environment and ‘on the bench’ with identical equipment. The ability to perform eye tracking and pupil diameter measurements while within the MRI environment will provide the ability to measure emotional responding, attentional shifting and other measures of stress while functional MRI (fMRI) data are being acquired during our human research fMRI studies. This enhancement to our MRI system will allow multiple investigators to customize novel experimental paradigms to measure, follow or induce stress, a relevant variable in addiction, which has not been feasible with our current MRI equipment. These tasks will also be performed outside the scanner for training and comparison purposes so the same equipment must be usable in both the MRI and non-MRI environments. This is a new piece of equipment and does not replace current available equipment.
