THIS IS A PRE-SOLICITATION NON-COMPETITIVE NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A CONTRACT OR PURCHASE ORDER WITHOUT PROVIDING FOR FULL OR OPEN COMPETITION (INCLUDING BRAND-NAME). Title: Sample Weighing and Liquid Handling Robot Automation MiniTasker NCATS seeks to acquire a laboratory robot capable of handling multiple labware types for weighing and solubilization in Matrix minitubes, 1dram glass vials, and 20mL scintillation vials. The system will record sample weights in a MySQL database that is already in use by 4 other Sirius robots at NCATS. In one platform the robot will support up to 20 positions for SBS racks (before accessories), a 4 place analytical balance with an anti-static enclosure and automatic draft shield, a capper/decapper capable of replacing/removing caps from 1dram and 20mL scintillation vials, a vial vortexer, tube handler with interchangeable grippers for moving minitubes, 1dram, and 20mL scintillation vials, a washable liquid handling canula for the addition and removal of various solvents including dimethyl sulfoxide, dimethyl chloride, methanol, and ethanol, and 1D and 2D barcode scanners. The software will be user programmable and will allow for the use of all the aforementioned devices in a standard run with no user intervention. The instrument will be used to perform different sample manipulations that are central to compound management tasks such as sample inventory, sample solubilization and distribution, and sample sorting. The specific unit required will be as follows: Sirius Base Unit 3 sets of Gripper Fingers for minitubes, 1 dram, and 20mL scintillation vials 4 place analytical balance with anti-static cover and draft shield 3 balance nests minitubes, 1 dram, and 20mL scintillation vials 1D Barcode reader and 2 reader nests for 1 dram and 20mL scintillation vials 2D Reader Capper/Decapper Liquid Handling Vortexer The sample weighing and liquid handling must meet requirements and have the capabilities detailed below: Record weights, barcodes, and log data from the instrument to an existing MySQL database with no additional programming code needed by the vendor or NCATS In one run must be able to scan the barcode of a 1dram vial, decap and cap a 1dram vial, weigh a 1dram vial on the analytical balance, add solvent to a 1dram vial, vortex a 1 dram vial, and transfer liquid from a 1 dram vial to a Matrix minitube.
