Biomedical imager
This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6 "Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and Solicitation for Commercial Items," as applicable, and as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation document will not be issued. Submit offers on RFQ1979936. This solicitation is a request for quotes (RFQ). The solicitation documents and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect tough Federal Acquisition Circular FAC 2019-02 Effective June 5, 2019. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 334516 - Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing. This is not a total small business set aside. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), Rocky Mountain Laboratories, is seeking a biological imager. This is a request for quotes. The quotation should include the following: This instrument is a biological imager that has the ability to use lasers to detect emissions from multiple sources, including phosphor emissions, infrared fluorescence, radioisotopes and optical densitometry (OD) of proteins in stained gels. This instrument would be located on the main NIH campus. Multiple sections of the LVD will share this instrument for their research. The following features of the biological phosphorimager are required: Upgradable to allow detection of additional imaging modes including multifluorescent-, radioisotope-labelled, and colorimetric samples. Flexibility to accommodate gels, membranes, multi-well plates, culture dishes, glass slides and tissue cultures. Large scanning area of at least 35 x 43 cm. This allows for both high-toughput scanning and facilitates accurate comparison when scanning multiple samples in a single scan. High resolution imaging down to 10um for capture of biomolecular imaging applications for gels, blots, tissue sections and microarrays. Generation of a 16-bit image that provides quantitative data across 65,535 gray scales. This linear signal over 5 orders of magnitude allows for acquisition and quantitation of gels, blots, screens, and tissue sections. The ability to store data in linear 16-bit grayscale (.TIF file format), in square root encoded 16-bit (.GEL file format), or log encoded 16-bit (.IMG file format). The ability to utilize multiple sample trays for different uses, including: o IP stage for magnetized storage phosphorimaging. o Fluor stage for gels and blots, or also to accommodate for non-magnetized storage phosphorimaging screens o Multi-stage for multi-well plates, low-fluorescence sandwich gels, microarrays or tissue slides Auto- and semi auto-scan functions, allowing for streamlined optimization of PMT voltage settings. Can house up to 8 filters with automatic filter recognition. *NOTE: Include ANY and ALL potential costs as line items in the quote. Submission Deadline and Point of Contact: Submission shall be received not later than August 14, 2019 1:00 p.m. MST. Offers may be e-mailed to Peggy Schott at margaret.schott@nih.gov. Place of Performance: NIH/NIAID 33 NORTH DR BETHESDA MD 20814 Award will be based on the price, past performance, delivery, warranty, and the best value to the government.
