The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) awarded a firm fixed-price purchase order to CSE Corporation for the delivery of 60 self-contained self-rescuer (SCSR) units and 60 SR2000 SCSR units. The $113,715 contract was awarded on May 22, 2019 to support a long-term field performance and reliability study of SCSR units used in U.S. underground coal mines. The CDC's National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory collects and evaluates SCSR units from the mines, and replaces them with new units from the same manufacturer. This sole-source contract had no set-aside designation.
