Intent to Sole Source Neural Interface Stimulation & Recording Systems
The VISN 10 Network Contracting Office (NCO) 10, Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical, Cleveland, Ohio intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Ripple, LLC. This is for the acquisition of one (1) Grapevine Nomad Processor - 512 Channels for use in the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center Research Department. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 334510. The Government believes that Ripple, LLC. is the only manufacturer that can satisfy the requirements of the agency. Therefore, the Government intends to proceed with a sole source for the required equipment. This procurement is for one (1) Grapevine Nomad Processor - 512 Channels in accordance with FAR 13.5 Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items and specifically FAR 13.501 Special Documentation Requirements, where acquisitions conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6, but still require a justification using the format of FAR 6.303-2. To the best of our knowledge, Ripple, LLC. is the only source that can provide the equipment listed below. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available; however, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within five (5) business days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Responses received will be evaluated however a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Research Department at LSVAMC is involved in research requiring portable stimulation/recording system that can be used as a take home system for electrical stimulation tough extraneural electrodes and EMG recording. The equipment must be compatible with the electrodes currently implanted in upper extremity amputee subjects. The equipment should be programmable to run custom code. Will be able to process EMG recordings from the muscles and deliver stimulation tough the extraneural electrodes to the nerves in the upper arm. The equipment will be programmed to run custom code and interface with the current HAPTIX setup and implants. - R02000 Grapevine Nomad Processor - 512 Channels. The purpose of this Sources Sought is to conduct Market Research to determine an acquisition strategy for the acquisition of a portable stimulation/recording system. VAMC Cleveland is requesting the R02000 Grapevine Nomad Processor - 512 Channels. The Research Department at LSVAMC is involved in research requiring portable stimulation/recording system that can be used as a take home system for electrical stimulation tough extraneural electrodes and EMG recording. The proposed solicitation will be to furnish all materials, labor, equipment and transportation required to provide portable stimulation/recording system to the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center. Contractor shall also comply with any other federal, state, and local laws applicable to the industry. Potential sources shall demonstrate experience and knowledge of requirement and capability to provide such commodities.
