Southern California Advanced Builders, Inc. (SCAB) was awarded a $184,446.87 firm-fixed-price purchase order by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) to complete strainmeter vault remediation and seismic infrastructure installation. This small business set-aside contract supports the USGS effort to upgrade its earthquake monitoring capabilities. Work will involve removing and replacing underground vaults with surface installations, drilling a shallow borehole, and constructing equipment shelters, solar arrays, grounding systems, telemetry infrastructure and drainage at seismic monitoring stations in Central and Northern California by August 2025. SCAB holds expertise in installing critical infrastructure for seismic monitoring stations aiding earthquake early warning systems. This award continues SCAB's work on prior USGS contracts totaling over $1.5 million since 2019 to improve detection of earthquake activity across the region.
