The U.S. Department of the Interior's U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Office of Acquisitions and Grants awarded a $32,760 firm fixed-price purchase order to Septentrio Inc., a self-certified small disadvantaged business, for the delivery of GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) receivers. This contract award was set aside for small businesses. Septentrio is a manufacturer of precise positioning systems and GNSS receivers known for their interference mitigation and monitoring capabilities. The GNSS receivers will support the USGS ShakeAlert earthquake early warning system, a program aimed at modernizing and expanding seismic detection and public alert capabilities across the western United States. Septentrio has a $3.6 million Indefinite Delivery Contract (IDC) with the USGS Office of Acquisitions and Grants to provide specialized GNSS equipment for the ShakeAlert network.
