The Department of Commerce's National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) awarded a $212,625.00 firm fixed price purchase order to Oyster Recovery Partnership, Inc., a Maryland-based non-profit organization, for oyster restoration monitoring in the Chesapeake Bay. This sole source award, made without a set-aside, is in support of NOAA's Chesapeake Bay Office's goals to restore oyster populations in ten Chesapeake Bay tributaries by 2025. Oyster Recovery Partnership, Inc. will provide field studies, oyster population density and biomass monitoring, shell volume presence, and final scientifically valid monitoring reports to NOAA. This award is part of NOAA's broader efforts to protect and restore the Chesapeake Bay ecosystem through fisheries science, oyster restoration, observations, environmental literacy, and coastal preparedness programs.
