This is a $499,953.81 grant awarded by the NASA Shared Services Center to the Maine Space Grant Consortium (MSGC), a non-profit organization, to support the Maine NASA EPSCoR (Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research) Research Infrastructure Development (RID) program from 2015 to 2022. The goal of the program is to enable Maine scientists and engineers to compete nationally in NASA-related research and development activities. Specifically, the grant will fund interdisciplinary "visioneering" workshops to generate ideas for collaborative research projects that align with NASA and Maine's needs, as well as provide one-time support to "jump start" these collaborative projects. This grant is not associated with any set-aside designation. As the prime contractor, MSGC has received previous cooperative agreements from NASA Shared Services Center for space exploration research and development, as well as funding from other federal agencies to support the development of Maine's proposed Spaceport Complex.
