This $169,199.44 grant was awarded by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to the Regents of the University of California, doing business as the University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley). The grant supports research into nanodust grains in the inner heliosphere, and how they interact with the solar wind and interplanetary magnetic fields. The goal is to better understand the temporal variability and spatial distribution of nanodust at 1 Astronomical Unit (AU) from the Sun. This research may provide insights into the production and evolution of nanodust in the inner solar system. The contract does not have a set-aside designation and runs through June 30, 2023. As the parent organization, the State of California Controller's Office would administer any funding provided to UC Berkeley under this grant.
