This contract was awarded by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Marshall Space Flight Center to Ch2M Hill, Inc., a for-profit engineering and construction company, to provide National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) soil cleanup support for the Santa Susana Field Laboratory (SSFL) site. The $168,977 firm fixed price delivery order has an April 3, 2023 completion date and was awarded on March 17, 2020. Ch2M Hill, which is a subsidiary of Jacobs Engineering Group Inc., will conduct activities like feasibility studies, remedial investigations, and other technical analyses to facilitate the environmental remediation and redevelopment of this former rocket engine test site. This work supports NASA's obligations under major environmental regulations to address contamination at its facilities. While this was not a set-aside contract, Ch2M Hill and Jacobs have experience delivering environmental consulting, engineering, and construction services to federal agencies like NASA, the Department of Defense, and the Environmental Protection Agency through prime contracts and subcontracts.
