The Department of Veterans Affairs' Veterans Health Administration awarded a firm fixed price contract to the City of Reno, a U.S. local government entity, for $153,821.39 to provide emergency housing services to U.S. veterans. The contract has a completion date of September 30, 2018 and was awarded on October 1, 2017. The City of Reno's Housing & Neighborhood Development Division, operating as the Community Development Block Grant Program, delivered these transitional housing and homelessness prevention services to VA facilities in Reno and northern Nevada. The contract was not set aside for any special designation. The City of Reno has also received over $15 million in Department of Housing and Urban Development grants since 2019 to expand affordable rental housing and other services for low and very low income households in the Reno area.
