The Department of Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System has a requirement for contractor to play the piano/keyboard for worship services and other special religious activities. Music is recognized as an essential element in most worship services. VAPAHCS Veterans benefit greatly from this service. The Veterans are primarily residential patients and are unable to leave the grounds to attend worship services in the community. The Veteran population is older and prefers traditional hymns in their worship services. VAPAHCS requires a person to play the piano/keyboard for one Protestant and one Catholic Worship Service at the Palo Alto Division (PAD), one Protestant and one Catholic Worship Service at the Menlo Park Division (MPD), and one Protestant and one Catholic Worship Service at the Livermore Division (LVD). VAPAHCS requires a person to play the piano/keyboard at Memorial Services and other special events as requested at all tee locations named above. There is no requirement that the same individual play for every service. Solicitation Number VA261-17-Q-0048 for this effort will be posted to FedBizOpps (www.fedbizopps.gov) on or about October 31, 2016. This solicitation will contain all necessary specifications and information necessary to quote the project. Quotes are tentatively scheduled to be due on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 (see solicitation when available for specific time/date). All information contained in this Sources Sought Announcement is preliminary, as well as subject to modification, and is in no way binding on the Government. The information requested will be used solely within the Department of Veterans Affairs to facilitate decision making and will not be disclosed outside of the Government. The determination of a procurement strategy, based upon the comments submitted in response to this Sources Sought Announcement, is solely within the discretion of the Government. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 711130, Musical Groups and Artists, and the small business size standard is $11.0M.
