The U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) awarded a $736,920 Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Phase II contract to Resilient Ops, Inc. to develop a prototype system called "DRIFT-UAS" (Distributed Resilient Framework for Trajectory Management of Unmanned Aircraft Systems). This system is intended to support autonomous air traffic flow management under trajectory-based operations, with a focus on enabling efficient and equitable trajectory planning for a mixed environment of manned and unmanned aircraft, especially at lower altitudes. The DRIFT-UAS system will enable two-way communication between aircraft and air traffic management to refine trajectories and provide guidance to airspace users.
