Omni Measurement Systems, Inc. was awarded a $250,000.00 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase II-X contract by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to further develop an in-suit waste management system for the Orion crew survival suit. This contract builds upon Omni's prior SBIR Phase II research and development work for the Orion Crew Survival Systems at NASA's Johnson Space Center. The waste management system is required to operate for 144 consecutive hours and prevent injury or health issues to the crew during a cabin depressurization contingency scenario for the Orion spacecraft. Omni is a manufacturer of specialized medical devices and flight equipment, including bladder relief systems and personal protective equipment, with past federal contracts supporting military and search and rescue applications.
