The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) awarded a Firm Fixed Price Definitive Contract worth $179,774.00 to Government Scientific Source Inc. (GSS) for the procurement of an Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer (ICP-MS). The ICP-MS is required to support the analytical needs of the USGS Geology, Geophysics, and Geochemistry Science Center (GGGSC) in Lakewood, Colorado. This contract was set aside for small businesses. The ICP-MS will enable the GGGSC to detect and quantify a wide range of elements in complex geological and environmental samples, which is critical for the Mineral Resources Program research conducted by the USGS. GSS, a leading distributor of laboratory products, has previously provided various scientific equipment and supplies as a prime contractor and subcontractor to federal agencies such as the Department of Agriculture, Department of Veterans Affairs, and Environmental Protection Agency.
