The U.S. Agency for International Development, Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (USAID/OSDBU) will host a Vendor Outreach Session for 8(a) Program (Non-IT) Participants on Thursday, March 28, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at 301 4th St. SW, Washington, DC. We invite non-IT 8(a) Program Participants new to the USAID to attend this session to 1) become familiar with processes and procedures associated with contracting with USAID; and 2) to identify and pursue contract opportunities with USAID. The session will feature presentations from the Bureau for Economic Growth, Education and the Environment (E3). E3 is USAID's newest bureau. This reorganization gives those within the former Bureau for Economic Growth, Agriculture and Trade (EGAT) opportunities to work closely on cross-sectorial development with colleagues in education and the environment. The 13 offices making up E3 are: Trade and Regulatory Reform (TRR) Economic Policy (EP) Microenterprise and Private Enterprise Promotion (MPEP) Development Credit (DC) Education Land Tenure and Resources Management (LTRM) Forest and Biodiversity (FAB) Planning, Learning and Coordination (PLC) Water Professional Development/Management Services (PDMS) Energy and Infrastructure (E&I) Global Climate Change (GCC) Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment (GenDev) With facilities worldwide, USAID has diverse requirements for supporting its missions throughout the world. USAID is responsible for facilitating and coordinating U.S. Government emergency assistance overseas and to provide humanitarian assistance to save lives, alleviate human suffering, and reduce the social and economic impact of natural and man-made disasters worldwide. Contracts are awarded primarily for technical assistance but also for commodities and equipment, transportation services and occasionally, construction.
