The 14th Contracting Squadron, 495 Harpe Blvd- Suite 256C, Columbus AFB, MS 39710 intends to solicit and award a firm fixed price, sole source Purchase Order F1N3BG0159A001 to MOTOROLA to obtain two (2) M30TSS9PW1N - APX 7500 DUAL BAND MID POWER RADIO Accessories. Specifically,

ASTRO Digital APX 7500 Mobile Subscriber 700/800 MHz (10 - 35 Watts) VHF - 136 - 174 (10-50, 25-100 Watts) Secure and Trunked Radio Systems.

This purchase is for a commercial item/service and will be made using FAR 12 and the Simplified Acquisition Procedures at FAR 13. Other than full and open competition is authorized pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b).

The proposed sole source is the only known source that can satisfy the Government's requirement without full base wide trunking system replacement. This system is primarily comprised of proprietary code developed by Motorola and licensed directly to the end user. Motorola retains exclusive ownership of this code and does not license third parties to alter or add to the software.

This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive quotes. However, interested contractors may submit a narrative describing their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort via e-mail to Paul Montgomery, Contract Specialist, at paul.montgomery.1@columbus.af.mil no later than 2:00 PM EST on July 14, 2010. Capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
