The Department of Labor, Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA), intends to award a Firm Fixed Price contract under the authority of FAR 8.6- Acquisition from Federal Prision Industrices, Inc. to UNICOR (Federal Prison Industries), 3301 Leestown Rd., Lexington, KY 40511-8702 for professional services to deliver, assemble, and install 167 lockers to the Coal Mine Safety and Health offices in West Virginia, Illinois, and Indiana. The specifications for the supply of lockers required are: double doors, metal construction, 21"D x 30"W x 72"H, must accommodate a pad lock, air vents in doors, interior division/separators, hooks, beige color, must be assembled, and must be installed. UNICOR (Federal Prison Industries) is a required source of supplies and services in accordance with FAR part 8. In accordance with FAR 8.602, UNICOR's items have been determined as being comparable to items of the private sector. This action will result in a firm fixed price contract. The period of performance will commence on or after March 27, 2013 and end on or about September 6, 2013. The NAICS code for this requirement is 337215. This Notice of Intent to award a sole source contract is not a request for competitive proposals. There is no solicitation document. No RFP will be available for competitive proposals.
